Here on S&S, we have a similar leveling system to the manga - akuma, bookmen, exorcists and noah have a ranking system between the numbers 1 to 4, where 1 is the starting level, and 4 is the maximum. Everyone runs on the basic EXPERIENCE (EXP) system, where each post grants you 5 EXP points, which you can then trade in for various levels. Of course, participating in missions and events will give you more EXP points, so those are available, as well.EXORCISTS & BOOKMEN run on a 'synchronization rate' currency - you start off at 30% when your character is approved, and from there, trade in your EXP points for synchronization percentages. At level 1, each percentage is equivalent to 5 EXP points, and once you reach 70%, you step up to level 2. At level 2, each percentage is equivalent to 10 EXP points, and at 110%, you arrive at level 3. At level 3, each percentage is equivalent to 15 EXP points, and you can reach level 4 once you hit a 150% synchronization rate.
At each new level, the innocence gains one new form, as well as three additional techniques in that new form. A higher level can use all the forms and techniques attained in prior levels.
AKUMA run on a 'kill quota' currency, as they level up with the intake of human deaths they cause. Level one akuma are only able to produce the venom, which kills humans; how they are launched, however, is entirely up to the character. At level 1, each kill is equivalent to 5 EXP points, and once you reach 40 kills, you grow to level 2. At level two, akuma can begin to have more unique and individual abilities. There, each kill is equivalent to 10 EXP points, and once you rack up 80 kills, you'll grow to level 3. At level 3, each kill is equivalent to 15 EXP points, and when you reach 120 kills, you'll have gotten to level 4.
At each new level, the akuma gains a new form, as well as three additional techniques. Unlike innocence and exorcists, the akuma cannot revert to its previous form, though it can use all of its techniques.
NOAH run on an 'awake' currency, growing stronger as the noah memories and blood within them awaken (including the apostles); upon acceptance, your character will be at an awakened level of 10% (it can be assumed that for apostles, this '10%' is on a much deeper level than the Unawakened noah). At level 1, each percentage is equivalent to 5 EXP points, and once you reach an awake percentage of 50%, you grow to level 2. There, each percentage is equivalent to 10 EXP points, and once you rack up to 90%, you'll grow to level 3. At level 3, each percentage is equivalent to 15 EXP points, and when you reach 130%, you'll have gotten to level 4.
At each new level, a noah gains one new ability that pertains to their theme, as well as three additional techniques in that new form. A higher level can use all the forms and techniques attained in prior levels.
missions
As in the manga / anime, all tasks exorcists are given are 'missions,' - these can range from retrieving innocence, investigating strange occurences, anything you can think of that seems plausible. Of course, where there is innocence, there are akuma and noah, etcetera; missions can be a great way to get into roleplaying as well as meeting and interacting with the other members of the site.Once you complete a mission, each person will be rewarded based on a personal input to the thread(s); staff will assess a mixture of how well-written the person's posts were, how much they contributed to moving the plot/thread along, etcetera. Staff can award anywhere from 20 to 500 EXP points (maybe even more) depending on how well-done the mission was.
Anyone can start / create / participate in a mission, and the creator of the mission can dictate how many of each players are needed. S&S runs on liquid time, so you may participate in more than one mission, but we ask that you try to limit yourself to the amount you can actively participate in. Missions do not have a proper posting order, so that if someone is not able to reply right away, it can continue on without having to pause.
