[atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign,top] NAME alistair valentine AGE twenty-nine years ETHNICITY english&greek | [atrb=valign, top] GENDER male SEXUALITY pansexual INITIATED age eighteen |
APPEARANCE Alistair Valentine is a man of height six foot one and a muscular body, despite not appearing to train in the public eye (he does so in secret). Skin-tone wise, Alistair is often pale-skinned, but he also tans easily. His hair is messily styled and blond, and his eyes cause people to mistrust him. With amber-orange eyes, some assume him to be of the Noah Family, but this is not the case. His eyes also appear to be soft blue on occasion. Alistair's uniform is rarely worn, but he wears a black coat that ends below his knees and it is left open to show his normal clothes, with the traditional gold trimmings a General of the Order would have. THE PERSONALITY The main reasons why Alistair Valentine has been given the alias The Trickster is due to his personality. A trickster is a person who plays tricks on people, breaks the rules or acts maliciously, therefore this title seems to describe Alistair perfectly. He enjoys lying to people, seeming to do so just for his own entertainment and to receive pleasure from it, which is... part of the reason why he lies, but he also does so in order to hide himself from others. He refuses to speak of his past and tell people about himself, for reasons that are, well, unknown. He claims that he has no reason however, and instead doesn't tell anyone about himself because he enjoys being shrouded in mystery. Alistair is also prone to secrecy and privacy. He tends to train in private, not wanting to allow others to see his abilities so that they can figure out ways to defeat him. His techniques of fighting tend to go along the lines of studying his opponent's own battle techniques and find weaknesses, before exploiting them for a quick defeat. As a result, he's quite patient. Alistair, in order to further hide his abilities, is also quite a conversationalist, and tries to get on the nerves of others in order to make them angry and more prone to showing their techniques. One of the best words to describe Alistair is bizarre. He is very strange and unusual, and is quite the unique person. He enjoys talking to people, but you'll find that he is actually quite the solitary person, preferring to hide away. He's not famous within the Black Order, but his name is known and his position with it too, but due to a seeming lack of information on him among finders and exorcists, a lot of rumours have been made up of him -- rumours which Alistair quite enjoys hearing about, and he tends to contribute to the rumours flitting about whenever he can. You wouldn't think it, but Alistair can be pushed past his Trickster side and into his more serious side. When serious, he is more often than not driven by anger, which casts an undeniable shadow over his "joker" like figure at times and he becomes overtaken by a ruthless personality that is almost eerie. He becomes reckless and destructive, and is overcome by his desire to protect others. One could note that the reason why he becomes so protective over people is because he is, perhaps, lonely, but when asked if he is he merely disregards the question. Alistair can and will be very dismissive. [ i'm lazy i'm not writing more of personality. ]MISCELLANEOUS FACTS > His birthday is February 14th. > His history is pretty much unknown to anyone. > "I had a son." "A son?" The Trickster stayed silent, his eyes locked on the window on which the rain pelted against.> Alistair is a pretty good actor, and a good liar, which contributes to his alias of "The Trickster." > He quite enjoys science and history. > Surprisingly quick. > Fluent in five languages - English, Greek, Spanish, French and Japanese. LEVEL 01 UNACTIVATED Nightmare when unactivated takes the form of a seemingly normal longsword, with the words, " I am the sunderer of dreams" written on each side of the blade in the Greek alphabet. The hilt itself has a few strange ribbons making its way around the hilt and dangling off the end of it, appearing grey in colour. When not in use, Nightmare can be found in its sheath on Alistair's belt. ACTIVATED Activated, the blade of Nightmare glows in alternating colours of red and gold, though not brightly, instead quite soft on the eyes. The strange ribbons wrapped around the hilt have now changed colour to a soft gold colour, and now appear to be wisp like strands. OVERALL ABILITY At level one, the abilities linked to Nightmare are defensive, enabling Alistair to avoid attacks by running away. QUICKSTEP, the most basic of Alistair's abilities, Quickstep is what you would think it is. If Nightmare is activated, Alistair is able to move very quickly to a different location on the field, moving so fast that he almost seems to teleport to that location. If Alistair is attacked immediately after Quickstepping, he is more susceptible to damage and can easily be staggered, or even thrown backwards. This counter-strike will require extreme timing on the opponent's part, as well as concentration. It's possible to see Alistair when he is Quickstepping - he appears to be a blur that is barely there. Often Quickstep will be used in conjunction with normal attacks, by Quickstepping, attacking the target, and Quickstepping away before a counter-strike.
BECOME PHANTOM, a defensive ability consisting of Alistair calling upon his Innocence to create a second copy of himself. This copy is ghost-like in appearance, white and almost pale blue and green, and it is immune to all damage. However, the ghost is also incapable of dealing any damage at all. When the ghost is created Alistair will Quickstep away to a hiding location in order to recover. During this ability, Alistair cannot attack either. The wisps on the end of Nightmare are connected to the phantom, but have also turned ghostlike and barely visible. However, a keen eye can easily see these strands and be able to follow the strands to Alistair's location. The phantom will last for three posts and has a cooldown of six posts, unless the phantom has been deactivated before that - if deactivated after one post, the cooldown is two posts, and if deactivated after two, the cooldown is four posts. LEVEL 02 UNACTIVATED Upon reaching level two, Nightmare has seemed to "split" into two weapons - the longsword it was at level one, and a katana. The longsword retains the appearance it had at level one, a silver longsword, but with the evolution the wisp-like strands have formed an elaborate guard reminiscent of a rapier's. The Greek sentence on Nightmare is still retained on the steel. The katana of Nightmare has been nicknamed "Somnus" by Alistair, sleep in Latin. It has a similar appearance to Nightmare, but with a curled blade, and no guard to it. The Greek script on Somnus translates to, " Farewell; I have given you eternal rest." Both weapons still have pale wisp strands from the hilt, and they seem to reach out towards each other. When the swords are not in use, they find themselves in their scabbards on Alistair's belt. ACTIVATED When activated, both the blades of Nightmare and Somnus glow red-gold in colour, stronger than the light from Nightmare in its level one state. The wisp-strands have also become soft gold, but still stronger in colour. OVERALL ABILITY Abilities stemming from the swipes of Nightmare and Somnus, bringing Hell upon an enemy with powerful strikes. FLOURISH OF STEEL, by slashing at the air, Alistair may send a wave or streak of energy towards a target, travelling at extreme speeds and able to cut through anything in the way of their target, though they're only able to travel in a straight line. This blades of energy can be cut through, and will immediately dissipate upon being broken. Four blades of energy can be sent per post.
PRISM RAIN, by swinging a sword upwards, a salvo of eleven rainbow coloured orbs will be released from the tip of the blade to rain down upon enemies, causing a small explosion upon contact. Once per post.
NO MERCY, Alistair will charge at his target, and deal ten powerful attacks on his opponent, five with each sword, before he charges through the opponent, causing a massive explosion of Innocence energy which can damage nearby enemies, and causing some blinding damage. This has a cooldown of three posts. LEVEL 03 UNACTIVATED "Requiem" has no unactivated form. It is unique in that it requires the katana and longsword - Somnus and Nightmare - to take form. Thus, the unactivated level three form of Nightmare is in fact its level two form. ACTIVATED "Requiem" is unique in how it is activated. The swords Nightmare and Somnus can be connected at the hilt, in which Nightmare's blade will shorten and the hilt will lengthen to form a sort of 'war scythe'. Somnus will instead form a curved blade, and form a true scythe. As a result, Requiem (the nickname for this form of Nightmare) is a scythe reminiscent of that of the Grim Reaper's, but with a war-scythe end to the pole. The pole of the weapon is black in colour, but the decorations at the end of each blade of the scythe are gold in colour, with the blades emitting a soft golden glow. The OVERALL ABILITY Level three Nightmare brings illusions into play, and confuses the opponent. STEPLAG, adding onto Quickstep, Steplag creates additional copies of Alistair when he moves quickly. Specifically, Alistair turns blue and darts to his newly chosen location with a lagged effect behind him, creating blue phantoms of himself. Steplag is slower than Quickstep due to the 'lag', but instead of being a 'teleport' ability, it can be activated for a duration of four posts and a cooldown of the same amount. All movements of Alistair's will as a result have a lagged effect, creating a confusing effect to the eyes of others.
HOUNDS OF THE REAPER, by sweeping his sword through the air, Alistair can release a pack of skeletal dogs (five) in order to attack and devour the targets. These dogs are phantom-like in appearance and appear to be skeletal, but black fur is visible. He particularly enjoys using these "little critters" as a distraction. One pack of five can be released in one post, lasting for a duration of three posts, and with a cooldown of three.
SHADOW OF DOUBT, Requiem will glow gold, and a soft golden ring will appear within a twenty metre radius of Alistair, with a white ring in a ten metre radius around Alistair. All enemies within the golden ring will become immobilised, unable to take any action, as though hesitating, whereas enemies in the white circle will begin to fight against each other, believing that their allies will turn against them. Duration of two posts, with a cooldown of five. [/style]
